Hey Everyone, I just got the word today that all the issues of ASH-TRAY COMICS #0-9, and my Graphic Novel - THE BALD AVENGER: HARDTIMES are available to download through Graphicly.com.

We are all excited for this development, mostly cause we will now have a wider audience for our worlds/creations.

This company has also allowed it creators an each feature, and we will be taking advantage of this add-on. In future issue of our books "you" our readers will have behind the scenes commentary,Scripts, and artwork for said issues by all that work on the books.

So, If you've been following my adventure, and artwork, you finally have a way to get all of the books that I've been working on...with my other creators (Sasa, Zip, Taylor, Javier, Karl, Don, Kraiger, Toby, Henry,Adam, and everybody else)

Hey Everyone,
Nice guys finish last..........it's time to change.

Lots have changed in my life since the last post.
I've become half the man I should be........on Saturday...and Sunday. Monday was better.
After 1 year and 14hours,(I counted the days, and appreciated every moment we spent together, it was my only break from comics that felt like a break, when I was with her.) Deanna and I broke it off, and I'm still in recover from that one. She gave me the "I'm to good for her."(that's bullshit in my opinion, she is good enough.), and told me I was not high enough in her priorities (school, and work) to care about (could of worded that a tad better?)....stab.....that one hurt. The communication was gone the day she told me she didn't like talking on the phone (but that what we always did, text, and talk) and then from that point on it felt like that we where at the end, but I had hope that she would come around once she was settled with the move, and got he school back in order, and things would be back to how they where. She said she didn't want to hurt me, but in hindsight her saying she hasn't been happy for a long time, and didn't care if I was around really did hurt....that's fine, I have no ill-will for her, and I hope for the best for her. I hope she will find someone that will make her happy, cause I guess it wasn't me. People change, and that's what happened. If we could communicate there might have been a chance for us, but there was nothing, and I had a feeling this would happen from the beginning. But, Love has a way of blinding you, and you don't see anything until it's too late. There was so much to lose in dating her. Namely a few of the friends I've had for years. I thought about this all the time while we dated. What if? If it worked out that would be great, but like every song it came to an end. She wanted to date, and I really liked her, and wanted to give it a shot. So I did. But, at what cost.

Hope is what I'd like to believe in, but Hope is for Suckers! This time around, I was the sucker.

Out of every destruction and lose, there is always a light that comes out of it.

My buddy,Matt "Zip" Howard and fellow Robo told me he'd been talking to Javier, and that I should give him a call, I lost my friendship with him a while back due to complications with Ash-tray Comics #5. You see, Javi and I go way back, all the way to high school. We hated each other, and the only common interest we had was a friend named Rob, and artwork. I used to be on his hit list. Well, years go by and I moved back to Tucson, and we meet again. He was surprised to see me, and we talked about art again. Since then, we where pretty close. When I thought of putting Evil Robo together, it was Him, and Saša Bralic that I asked to venture down this road. Like I said before issue #5 was a nightmare and Javi quit. I called him tonight, it was the best thing that's happened in a long time. We talked and resolved some issues that happened a year and some moons ago. So, I might have lost a lot of close friends in Tucson, I got one that I thought I'd lose forever, and that works for me.

Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated ( http://www.notldr.com ) has proven itself to be one of the most experimental projects to hit the horror genre in recent memory. Taking the existing film, Night of the Living Dead (1968), gallery curator/ experimental animator, Mike Schneider, extended the invitation for anyone in the horror community to take scenes from this seminal work and respond to them through their art. As Schneider explains, 'We, as fans, accept the film as an absolute. Changes would be alienating and copying would be pointless. Instead, what we have done is what artists have always done.. responded to the world around us and offered others the chance to see it as we do.'

With nearly 150 artists and animators taking up the cause, thousands of pieces of art and segments of animation were created through media ranging from oil paintings to comic illustrations and digital animation to sock puppets. Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated forgoes the dubious comforts that a singular style may provide for the chance to showcase the wide spectrum of visual media. The resulting collection was then hung directly on top of the original film leaving the its audio track and story completely unmodified.

Since it first screened in September 2009, Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated has shown in venues including film festivals, theaters, colleges, cinema bars, museums, horror conventions, and even in virtual spaces like the Facebook Comic-Con and in the Phantasmagoria Theater (a virtual movie theater build within the MMORPG, Second Life). You can never Hide the Past: Part 2 - Smiley Guy

The Smiley Guy.........He's the super-hero of dobson city.

He's went through a railroad of changes since he was first created. At first he was a man that wore a mask to hide his identity. Would stop crime and beat the living tar out of his enemies. That changed with time and here is how he came to be.

The Smiley Guy.

Seeing his face is a distubing site. He does not fit into what society would deem normal. He is the stranger in the stange land. Alien. The only thing that could make him smile is the twisted shoelace stitched into his face. These are all the things I've told people for years what he's all about. When I created him in high school I thought of what people would call me when they would first meet me. They would say "Man, You're a Real Smiley Guy". Then the idea of some one wearing a mask with nothing more than a smile entered my mind. Better yet, what if all he could do was smile.....because it was stuck on his face, or stitched. I had the concept and ran with it. The first Smiley Guy story was done for my high school paper "The Palo Verde Post" the editor really like my art and though it would be cool to put a comic in it. I started with the " The Dark Roach" a comedy or satire of sorts about a Roach that dresses as a bat.(Dude, I know it was lame...but I was my first published work!) After that was done. I wanted to try a Super-hero strip! The Smiley Guy was born. He was an avenger of the night, and crime was going to pay for it's trespass against humanity by any means available. It was done, and it was printed....The Name at the title was totally messed up they called him " The Crazy Smiley Wacky Guy" and it was drawn by Eric Shock. Now, it's cool to have something printed and draw for your high school paper, but seriously, messing up your name after you've been drawing thing for that paper for two years. Anyway, after It came out I was Excited more than anything I've ever done in my life. My art teacher, saw the strip and told me it was to violent for a school paper. I gave up on drawing anything for the paper again. (In those day's I took critques of my work very emotional) I continued the Smiley Guy in my sketchbook, and on printer paper did a short 2-page story with a guy, but that was about it for the Smiley Guy, I had him in a few art projects where he battled Maim, but then, time change and the world around you does the same. Smiley when into a folder and rarely showed his head. He also popped up in Random Panels a small comic I worked on with a few guys in Tucson that was short lived and ultimately feel apart. After doing some time with a book that never saw the lite, besides an ashcan, and me drawin the story that keep changing and getting altered to the point that I quit.(Tribal Force) I decided it was time I did my own thing. I dug up all my old characters and created a few new ones. Smiley guy got dusted off, repolished, and reintroduced. He was an Alien from a distant world. His world was take over by an opposing culture, and he left it to find a new life, a new world. That world was Earth, and the year was 1939.(This is also the year of the begining of the Golden Age of Comics) Upon his arrival to earth his ship was destroyed. He left his ship in an escape pod, and being in space so long it developed into a comet. He crashes to the earth and finds himself with greater powers than that of his home world. His structure is plant-based so he grows strong with the sun, the rain, and produces oxygen from his skin. He has a healing abilities and he can see at night as well as you or I see in the day. He learns about earth through radio and telepathy. (He has eyes, but no mouth) He reads about heroes in comics and finds that this must be Earth's Myth of our gods, and using this as a platform becomes a hero. One he arises, other follow. He fights in WW2, and returns home only to find it a darker place. Years go by and he finds himself, as bum in an alley. He does not age in the sense of how we age, so, to most he is immortal. He wakes up to find a gang member want him out of the alley, and pulls a knife. He has taken himself out of the public eye because he find the more he does to make the world better the worst the world become.....He is cut from one side of his face to the other. Leaving him a smile. His reation is to stop the cretin, and thinks about how much time he has lost with the time he abandoned his new world. He stitches his face with a shoe string from an old boot. So, he will never forget what he must do for this world. With new found vigue he becomes the Smiley Guy. With that, the smiley guy becomes Dobson City's Hero.

With Ash-Tray Comics #5 and #6 I return The Smiley Guy to his hero roots with "The Case of the Smiley Guy" it is set in the 1960's the year of the silver age of comics.

Smiley will be brought into future issues of Ash-Tray Comics with the continuing story of The Bald Avenger.

You can never Hide the Past: Part 1 - MAIM

Wow, Two in Two days, this might be getting easier. Anyway, as I was talking about in my last blog. I've created a few character in the past that have change a little, but in feel of the characters they have remained the same. Well, Let's start out, shall we.

Maim.

Maim was one of those characters I created because I wanted a total bad ass. It was due in part to me reading an ashcan by local artist's named Adam Foster the ashcan was entitled :Ruthless Tales. It stared his charater The Snowman. He was a Hitman that had a horrible tranformation due to chemical that bonded his mask to his face, and granting him power, self healing(or in those day - a healing factor) and made him the biggest bad ass in comics. Needless to say this brought me into the realm of the anti-hero.

Maim is a Profession Hitman. In my original treatment of his story, Maim was a black op. agent who was trained by The Snowman. After a few years training with The Snowman he joins the military and his profile fits that of someone who feel little to no remorse for his actions concerning human life. They bring him in as a Gov. Agent and he is sent out to kill people. ( At that time, art was mimicing life. because Adam was showing me what comics where all about) Years go by and he leaves the Government, and goes freelance. He has changed for the better and has gotten his life together. He gets married to a woman named Linda, and she knows what he does. Maim who is on a job in the atlantic get a call by a high rating officer asking him to return. Maim says no, and they kill Linda. He hunts down the officer and kills him.....end of story.

It's like the old west......Blam.

As I developed this character he need something to make him different. But, hey I was all about tele-por-ta-tion devices that allowed you to beam from one place to another in minutes. It was the 90's and that was all over the comic scene. The big thing that I thought would make him different was once he killed someone, in his mind he would believe he would be one step for Linda, Because he could smell her, feel her next to him, swore he saw her in mirrors,etc. He was haunted by Linda, and the only way to be close to her was for him to kill more people. It became an addiction for him to kill. In reality he was losing his mind. He was highly un-stable and I wrote him that way. This was as close to a love story, I as a writer/artist ever wanted to get. But, Love is an emotion that is very powerful and Maim is one crazy bastard. He fought his fair share of Cyborgs, and other hitmen on his short comic stint. He came back for Ash-Tray Comics #0 with a new look, but same concept. Speaking of comics, in Ash-tray comics #7, I will be reintroducing Maim, and giving him a little "spotlight" in the Bald Avenger. It should be very cool, and I hope to finally get to draw "his" story in future issues of Ash-tray.

The Bald Avenger Part 2: Bulletproof Corset

Figured I 'd post some panels for the next Issue of Ash-Tray Comics. In this issue I'll be coming back to The Bald Avenger, and introducting Maim(I'll get into him later) and The Bulletproof Corset. This story is something I've been planning for a while, and now I finally get to tell it. All the events from Issue#1-#4 have had little bits to unfold this story. Bob(The Bald Avenger)will be going solo for this part of the story. Phil will be on his own and spending sometime with himself, and Jim Haggin will be hunting both Bob and Veronica Valentine(The Bullet Proof Corset). With all that going on you have Charles Cucumber, who not only has the bear, but also has a bigger plan. He hires Veronica to kill Bob, then Hires Maim to clean up the mess by hunting Veronica and Bob.

I'm super excited about doing this story, it going to be a wild ride.

Jack Mcfinney: The Irish Have Arrived. Well, I figured I should do a new character for Anchorbird and it's Jack McFinney.
He's Irish, and was once a pilot for the Big D. Until, his fleet was destroyed by the moon tyrant. Anyway, I hope to add him into the fold, as someone to get Anchorbird out of jams as he gets himself in them.

More Comics, In Arizona? The second annual Comic Con!

This is the new Flyer!

With Con getting real close, Mike wanted a new flyer giving all the correct info. So with my power to get things done in a flash I figured it was appropriate to use, well, The Flash. This is a News Flash so people will see the event has changed a little, but added a lot more event info. Taylor Garrity(and wife), Sasa Bralic, Adam Foster, Adrian Cronin, and myself will be attending.

Charlie's Comic Books, Dec,2009 Signing.

Each year, Charlie Harris has two signings one in May( For free comic book day), the other in Dec. Evil Robo Productions will be at both. Thanks to Charlie pushing our books in his shop since we started. Taylor Garrity, Adam Foster, and Myself will be there. Pushing our next books Ash-Tray Comics #5,#6,#7 Charlie will also be the editor for the comics from this point out. Welcome aboard, hopefully this ship doesn't sink.

A bold brave new world and I just Live here.

This will be my rant page on all the projects and Things that I'm working on or involved in. Well before I get into that, let me introduce myself my name's Eric Schock. I'm a comic artist for Tucson, AZ. In my time in Arizona I've Traveled to Phoenix, to New Jersey, and back to Tucson. Art has aways been a staple in my life as well as Comics I've went to Design Schools and Graduated from the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon Graphics. With this page I will be showing you my art and the art that I'm working on (I, Think I might repeating myself).

Evil Robo Productions and Ash-Tray Comics

Okay, First up, I work for Evil Robo Productions. I created this company way back in 2004 and produced a book called Ash-Tray Comics. After I graduated from The Joe Kubert School I decided to do something with the company and started a book with the same name "Ash-Tray Comics". How did I start this book you ask? Well, I used what was available to me. I got all my Friends from school,and asked them if they would like to work on a book together. Some said yes, others did not have the time to get artwork out. Ash-Tray Comics#1 was launched and produced in 2006. Now, As a Company it has grown from being just myself, putting a book out with Sasa Bralic. To a Company Comprised of Taylor Garrity, Sasa Bralic, and Myself. We are currently adding more artist with Karl Savage and Adam Foster with issue #7. At Evil Robo Production we are striving to put out the best book we can create and I hope you can see that with the product. AnchorBird: The Web Comic

Other Projects I'm working on with other artist is AnchorBird. It is a continuing comic strip done by many talented artist. My Friend Karl got me involved and It looks to be a fun project. The Second Annual Tucson Comic Con

Then there's the Tucson Comic Con. Taylor Garrity, Sasa Bralic and I have been working on this since the first Year. Now we are the Art Director. It's fun being able to draw all the characters I've always wanted to draw, and do it for a good cause. The Tucson Comic Con is a non-profit company and the event is free to the public.
